If you are the proud owner of a motor scooter, then you know how important
performance is for a safe and enjoyable ride. Motor scooters have been around
for a long time and are commonly called a "moped." Here are a few examples of
some of the more popular models of motor scooter:
Viento, EVT (The Zero), eGO-2 cycle, Sol Gato, Lepton, Shredder, Blade, Electric
Hog, and Esarati Electric Motorbike
The motor scooter is not quite a full sized motorcycle but larger and more
powerful than common kids scooters. The motor scooter is as easy to ride as
a bicycle and is durable and sturdy, lasing for many years. For example, the
eGO is designed with a number of safety features such as headlight, brake light,
and turn signals. Additionally, when the throttle is relaxed, the braking
feature and brake light are automatically activated. If you want a little more
power for your motor scooter, you can also choose one with a front disc brake
and rear V-style caliper brake.
This scooter's chassis is made from precision-tooled T6000 aluminum that is
aircraft-grade. This aluminum is not only precisely aligned, but also TIG
welded, creating a strong, attractive monocoque chassis with plenty of room
for the batteries, drive components, and electronics. Each chassis is
heat-treated, sandblasted, and silver anodized, giving it extra strength and
durability, and creating a scratch resistant surface. Best of all, the
electric motor has zero emissions, which helps save the environment by
lowering pollution.
On average, the larger motor scooters can travel 25 miles with an average
speed of 23 miles per hour and a top speed of 30 miles per hour. The motor
scooter also has a hill-climbing ability of 18 miles per hour at a 15% grade.
In addition to riding off road, the motor scooter can be registered and
licensed for legal road riding. Although warranties do vary, on average, the
chassis or frame for larger motor scooters have a 10-year warranty, the
batteries have 6 months and the rest of the motor scooter, one year.
Other features might include a quick swap battery pack, range indicator, light
switch, front and rear fenders, stainless steel hardware, rear rack, and a
secure keyed ignition. For enhancements to the motor scooter, you can pay for
such features as an advanced battery pack for approximately $330, wire basket
for $30, saddlebags for $175, and enclosed carrier basket with lock for $180.
For the scooter alone, depending on the model you choose, prices will generally
range from $1,399 to $3,499. Keep in mind that each brand and model of electric
scooter offers a different weight capacity, which will ultimately influence the
performance. Most importantly, always wear a helmet, whether backing out of the
driveway or 10 miles to the store.
