Electric scooters have become the new rage in transportation. They are
lightweight, convenient, inexpensive to purchase and operate, perfect
for short trips, and fun.
The way in which an electric scooter works will depend on a number of
factors. The first factor is the terrain where you live or plan to ride
the scooter. If you live in an area where there are a lot of hills or
inclines, you will not get as much power or battery longevity if you were
riding the electric scooter on straight roads or paths. The second
consideration is the battery size. Most batteries will last from 2,000
to 7,000 miles, depending on how the scooter is ridden. Additionally,
every time you charge your battery, you should get from 8 to 12 miles.
Generally, the larger the battery, the greater the capacity.
You will also want to consider the speed of the scooter. If you need to
get somewhere fast, you should drive the car. However, if you have time,
the scooter would be ideal. The speed is generated from the motor and
controller and will vary. On average, an electric scooter will travel
around 10 miles per hour although there are some that can hit 20 mph.
Weather conditions, especially the wind also plays a role in the
performance of the scooter. If you were traveling at 10 mph with a
wind of 10 mph, you would have the effect of 20 mph. However, if you
are traveling at 10 mph against a 10-mph wind, well, you might want to
drive. The wheels of your electric scooter are designed from
low-rolling resistance polyurethane, meaning they never go flat and
they do not need maintenance. The wear of the tire depends on the
conditions where you ride, rider weight, and the speed. Typically, you
will get from 500 to 1,500 miles before you would need to replace the
wheels.
The beauty of riding an electric scooter is that they are so easy and
can be stored just about anywhere. You can slide it under your bed or
desk, hang it from a hook in the garage, or simply store it away in a
closet. Visit a dealership and try one out. More than likely, once
you try it, you will love it!
