With some cities being so dense, many people have discovered that
riding a bike is a great way to get around. The only problem was
that after a while, you get tired from all the pedaling. Now there
is another option, the electric scooter. If you live in cities such
as New York or San Francisco, you will find using a scooter easy and
fun. In fact, many of the bike messengers in New York have replaced
their bikes with scooters. They can still get the job done but now
without being exhausted by the end of the day.
If you need to get around or run errands that are shorter trips and
the loads are light, you will love an electric scooter. You will
have more flexibility with a scooter than you would have with other
types of vehicles. Additionally, you are not required to license,
register, or have insurance on a scooter. Scooters can get in and
out of traffic with ease and parking is never a problem.
Scooters are ideal for those hot days when you do not feel like
pedaling. You will also find them helpful on cold days when walking
or riding is difficult. If you want to get some exercise with your
electric scooter, you can. Simply keep the motor turned off. This
is exactly why the electric scooter is so great - versatility. These
options are what make the electric scooter a perfect solution. There
are scooters designed for children and adults so the entire family can
get in on the fun.
Generally, the batteries can be charged using a standard 110-volt
outlet and can charge in hours. The amount of time the battery will
last depends on the electric scooter that you have. In most cases,
the charge will hold anywhere from five to eight hours and can last
from 15 to 30 miles. Other considerations would include the weight
of the rider, weight of any cargo, and the terrain in which the
scooter will be ridden. For example, if you will be going over
hills, you will not get as good of a charge.
Best of all, the battery costs only pennies to charge. From that
point on, your scooter and battery are pretty much maintenance free.
Some electric scooters are so compact they can be folded up and
placed under your desk, bed, or stored in a closet. Additionally,
while gas powered scooters are not allowed on public buses, electric
scooters have no restrictions, meaning you can take them anywhere.
