When you purchase your electric scooter, you will enjoy the convenience and fun
provided. Those short-distanced errands can now easily be handled with your
electric scooter while saving money. All the worries surrounded by a car will
disappear since you no long have to worry about gas, oil, flat tires, or hassling
over parking spaces. However, just like anything you purchase, there can be times
when things do not operate, as they should. Generally, the problem is something
minor that can easily be fixed. To be sure, you need to look at the symptoms to
identify the causes, which will help you come up with the appropriate solution.
Let us say that you brought your electric scooter home and you are excited and
ready to take it out on its first mission. However, as you try to turn the
electric scooter on, nothing happens - the scooter simply will not go. This
means that the symptom is no power, the scooter will not operate. Before you
panic, consider the causes of why the scooter will not go.
As elementary as this might sound, make sure that you have not overlooked the
on/off switch. You would be amazed at how many times people simply forget to
turn the switch to the "on" position. In their excitement, this is merely
overlooked. After checking the on/off switch, you next want to check the
battery. Make sure there is juice to the battery. If the battery is in working
order, you need to determine if any of the fuses has blown. Although this should
not be the case, especially if the electric scooter is brand new, this is yet
another item to check off your list. From there, you would check the motor
bearings to ensure there is no failure, make sure there is no brushed motor
problems and finally, make sure the charger is charging the way it should. If any
of these factors were the problem, be encouraged that there are things you can do
to fix the problem.
If you find the switch was indeed in the "off" position, do not feel bad. This
happens all the time. In this case, simply flip the switch over to "on" and get
ready to ride. If the problem was actually relating to the battery, try replacing
it. If this is a new electric scooter, the battery should be new as well and have
the ability to hold a charge. If after recharging it you still experience the
same problem, contact the company where you purchased the electric scooter and
request a replacement battery. In fact, many people buy a backup battery
regardless. If you try to charge the battery but it will not hold the charge. If
it does not, then you will need to replace the battery with a new one.
If you have identified the fuse to be the problem, this is just a matter of
replacing it. There is a possibility that the fuse blew after experiencing a
short circuit. For this reason, along with replacing the fuse, you need to make
sure the short circuit problem is also fixed. If everything to this point is
okay, check to see if the bearings have gone bad. If this is the case, just
replace them. In addition to the replacement, open the casing and conduct an
inspection to make sure there is nothing else wrong, especially with the brushed
motor. Finally, you need make sure the there are no problems with the charger.
If you have exhausted all of these possibilities and the scooter will still not
start, contact the business where you purchased the electric scooter for further
instruction.
