If you have recently purchased an electric scooter, then you already know
the value and benefits you get each time you ride. The freedom, convenience,
and ease of getting around have never been better. Now that you have your
electric scooter, the worst thing that could happen is having someone steal
it. While it would be great to just park your scooter and do what you need
to do, in this society, precautions are needed. For this reason, you should
seriously consider using a scooter lock to provide protection.
While there are many different options, one of the most popular locks is the
Kryptonite cable lock that is designed with a plastic coating, measures
about 5' x 12", is a keyed style lock with two brackets, and comes with a
set of keys. This particular lock is easy to use and adds optimum security.
While the price may vary, this lock usually runs around $45.
Another lock that many scooter owners use is the combination lock. This
lock is designed with 3.5 feet of cable that has an automatic retraction
feature, and best of all, you can choose your own combination. This lock
is excellent for security and perfect for those on a budget. Again, prices
can vary depending on what part of the country you live in, but on average,
this lock can be purchased for a mere $15. The Kryptonite U-lock or Mega
Flex and Combo Padlock are also good options that run approximately $10.
If you have not purchased an electric scooter yet but are looking, you might
consider one that can be programmed for keyless entry protection. This type
of scooter is also designed with more than one point that would allow a
traditional lock to be connected for securing to a bike rack, pole, or some
other type of stationary object.
BladeZ also offers numerous lock styles, specially designed for the
electric scooter. For one, the BladeZ Scooter Lock set includes a set of
keys, and is a great option. Another good option is the Bell U-lock that
features an ATB shackle and bracket, which can be purchased at scooter
shops, dealers, and larger toy stores. If you need to head to the corner
grocery store, to school, work, or just down the road to the local park,
your electric scooter will provide you with invaluable benefit. Your
scooter will provide you with years of enjoyment and by locking it when
not in use, you can be sure that it stays yours.
