It would be so nice if every time something was purchased, once you arrived home
with it, everything were in perfect working order. Although that is how things
should work in theory, we all know too well that this is not always reality.
As an example, let us say you bought a new electric scooter and after getting
everything set up, you hop on and take off to run your first trial errand. The
store where you are heading is approximately two miles away, meaning you can get
there and back with juice in the battery left over. For the first couple of
months, everything works perfectly. However, now you are noticing that by the
time you get home, the battery is just about dead. For some reason, the range
you were getting from your scooter has decreased.
Although there could be problems that are more on the serious side, before you
head down that path, look at a couple of things that can be easily fixed. The
most obvious problems could be based on the following:
· Weak Battery
· Low Tire Pressure
· Brakes Rubbing
Start by checking the battery. If you have a weak battery, the electric scooter
will not have the required amount of power to get you to and from your location.
The solution would be to replace the battery with a brand new one. You should
also determine the guarantee on your particular battery. If the battery fails
prematurely, it might be covered under the warranty. After checking the battery
and finding that, everything is fine you should check the tire pressure.
The maximum pressure is printed on the sidewall just as you would find with any
automobile tire. Under-inflated tires will actually cause the battery to work
harder. Therefore, if the tires are not inflated properly, you will lose some
of the distance that would normally be achieved. One other thing to consider is
the rubbing of the brakes. If your brakes are rubbing, this means you are not
getting the full benefit of the electric scooter. Although it is still running,
the braking problem is fighting against the battery that is trying to push the
scooter forward. The brakes rubbing are yet another way in which the battery
could be drained prematurely. After checking the three items mentioned, if you
are still having a decreased range, contact the manufacturer or business where
you purchased the electric scooter and ask for other recommendations.
