Now that you are the proud owner of a new electric scooter, you will be able to
enjoy the convenience and savings provided. Running those smaller errands will
be easier and best of all you are helping to control air pollution. The scooters
run smoothly, getting you to and from your destination with ease. Unfortunately,
there are times when things do not run, as they should. Usually, a problem is
easy to identify and fix.
First, if the electric scooter is moving differently than it normally moves, make
sure it is under the maximum weight capacity. This can definitely cause the
electric scooter to wobble and not steer accurately. Another problem that you
might experience is the electric scooter running for 25 minutes or so, and then
all of the sudden, the scooter stops running. In this case, the problem could be
due to general overheating, the defective controller/thermal sensor, or overheating
caused from low tire pressure or brake rubbing.
To correct these problems, you should try adding a coolant as a means of reducing
any stress on the motor. If the overheating were related to the low tires or
brakes rubbing, you would need to adjust the pressure in the tires or loosen the
brake pressure. Finally, if the strange movement seems to be coming from the
defective controller or sensor, try replacing the controller.
Another problem relating to movement could be that the electric scooter no longer
moves as quickly as it once did. If this is the particular problem you are
dealing with, try replacing the battery and checking your tire pressure. If you
notice that electric scooter is still moving strangely, the brakes should be
checked for rubbing, motor bearings checked for failure. After all, you want your
new electric scooter to last a long time!
One last problem might be where you can feel the electric scooter pulsating as you
ride it. This problem is generally caused by a bad controller or a defective Hall
Effect sensor. The correction for this problem is relatively easy - replace the
controller or sensor. Each of these problems is easily fixed. Therefore, as soon
as you notice your electric scooter not moving right, have it checked.
